Home/Group benefits
Employee benefits for Owensboro businesses, set up and serviced locally.
Good benefits help a small business hire and keep good people. I help Owensboro employers compare group plans, get employees enrolled and review the plan before every renewal.
What a benefits package can include
- Group health insurance
- Medical coverage for employees, with the option to add families.
- Dental and vision
- Often added alongside health coverage, or offered on their own.
- Group life insurance
- Coverage for employees that can be offered on its own or alongside a health plan.
- Voluntary supplemental coverage
- Cancer, critical illness or hospital indemnity policies employees can choose and pay for themselves.
How it works
Tell me about your team
How many people work for you, what you offer now, and what you can budget each month.
I gather quotes
Plans and contribution options from the companies I represent, laid out side by side.
Employees enroll
I explain the options to your team so they understand what they are choosing.
We review before renewal
When new rates arrive, we look at changes and alternatives before the deadline, not after it.
Small teams count
You do not need a large company to offer benefits. Kentucky law treats businesses with up to 50 employees as small employers for health coverage, and many insurance companies write plans for very small teams. Voluntary benefits, where employees pay their own premiums, can be a starting point when a full health plan is not in the budget yet.
Group benefits questions
How many employees do I need for a group plan?
It depends on the insurance company and the type of coverage. Kentucky law treats businesses with up to 50 employees as small employers for health coverage, and many companies write plans for very small teams. Start with a conversation about yours.
Do I have to pay for all of it?
No. You choose how much to contribute. Insurance companies often set a minimum employer contribution and a minimum share of eligible employees who enroll, and I will tell you what those are before you commit.
Can employees add their families?
Usually, yes. The employee pays some or all of the added cost, depending on how you set up contributions.
What happens at renewal?
The insurance company sends new rates before your plan year ends. That is the time to compare, adjust the plan design or change companies, so I look at renewals ahead of the deadline.
